Kevin Johnson passed away early Saturday morning, January 21, 2012, two weeks before his 22nd birthday. Kevin was the beloved son of Sharon and Steve Johnson of New Canaan, Connecticut, and a student at Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, New York, on leave from Marist College. He died in a fire following a celebratory dinner party with seven friends at a private house in Poughkeepsie. The friends were upper classmen at Marist College. While asleep after dinner, a devastating fire started in the rear of the house. Five survived. Kevin and two female friends did not. Kevin was a loving son, nephew and cousin with a dazzling smile and a generous heart. The souls of the just are in the hand of God and no torment shall touch them. A memorial service will be held at Marist College on Wednesday, January 25, a wake at Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan, CT 06840 Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 3-8 P.M. And a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 11 A.M. at St. Aloysius Church, Cherry Street, New Canaan, CT 06840.
