I knew Kay from the weekly New Canaan Advertiser Community Coffees that were held every Friday morning at 9am. The group started small with about 30 regulars. I created a sign-in sheet to obtain everyone's email and the group rapidly grew to about 130 people including State Senators, Congressmen, local politicians, town officials and even Governor Lamont!
Kay always sat on the left side of the room next to her friend Mary. Every Friday I arrived early with home baked goodies so I had an opportunity to speak to Kay and others before the room filled up.
Simply put, Kay was a lovely person who stayed engaged in our community. When the New Canaan Advertiser coffees stopped, I no longer saw many dear friends. Back in 2018 I emailed a thank you message from the New Canaan Advertiser editor to dozens of residents. Kay was the first person to write back with a kind note. Indeed she was a very special lady.
My condolences to the Grogan family on your profound loss.
