Obituary of Whitney Caitlyn Tobey

Whitney Caitlyn Tobey of Darien passed away on November 9th, 2020 just after her 25th birthday. She had her family by her side as her difficult battle with illness came to an end. Whitney graduated from Darien High School. She worked at Palmers Market for many years until shortly before she was afflicted with illness. She had worked her way up to Front End Manager and was very proud of her position and enjoyed her time with her coworkers. Whitney was very artistic in many ways. She had many creative outlets. She enjoyed music, fashion, makeup, photography, and baking. Whitney was a daughter, sister, and niece. The title she was most proud of and excited by was aunt. She was a loving aunt to her new baby niece. She is survived by many family members who love her dearly. Most notably is her mother Michelle Tobey, sister Sawyer Oliver, brother in law Robert Oliver, niece Elisa Oliver, and sister Sydney Tobey. She will also be missed by her stepmother Jennifer Piner, aunt Meta Intemann, uncle Michael Intemann, uncle Marc Intemann, aunt Lynn Klauser, and all of their significant others and children. Her family takes comfort in her father, Peter Tobey, being in heaven to greet her. Whitney was a funny, unique girl that left us too soon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Friday, November 13, 2020 at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church. A public walk through visitation will be held at Hoyt Funeral Home on Thursday, November 12 from 3-7 pm. Visitors are asked to wear masks as they walk through, pay their respects and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through the building.
